Success in Your Career and Life

For nearly 20 years Tom Tierney (former Managing Director of Bain & Co and Founder of Bridgespan) and I have led a workshop in Bain New Partner Training.  In it we summarize under five themes what we believe differentiate the most successful Bain partners and others who live successful lives.

The five themes include Continuous Learning, Leadership Through Influence, Purposeful Living (Life Planning), Significance Beyond Success, Growth from Adversity (Transitions),   

Slides give the workshop structure and facilitate interactive quizzes.  What the slides don´t convey are the stories, mainly of failures, that have taught us the key lessons.

2010 Anatomy of a Transition. 
The expanded version of my 1989–1992 transition through health, marriage, and Bain crises presented as a case study.  It describes the crisis, all the various things I did, the results in the 15 following years.  The key question of “What worked?” is answered in three different ways by three friends.
